East Haven Police Officer, K9, Honored For Missing Person Rescue

Officer Donato Palma and K-9 Enzo were honored by the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association ​for helping to find a missing person in 2020.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Police officer Donato Palma and K-9 Enzo were honored by the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association for helping to find a missing person in North Branford last December.

On December 13, 2020 at around 5 p.m., North Branford police requested a K-9 officer to help them find a missing man. Police said the man, who was "suffering from alcoholism" had been missing for over four hours. Palma and Enzo found him in a wooded area and the man was taken tot he hospital, East Haven police explained. That night, temperatures dropped to below 40 degrees and if not having been found by Palma and Enzo, "that night. Tthis could have been potentially life-threatening."
