East Haven Schools Reopening Plan: What You Need To Know Now
If there's little or no spread of COVID-19 come late August, it's back to school. Don't want to send kids back? There's a plan for that.
EAST HAVEN, CT — Not unlike many school districts in the state, the East Haven Public Schools reopening plan is guided by coronavirus spread come late August.
If there's minimal spread all students, teachers and schools staff return to classrooms with safety protocols in place.
But, East Haven schools will have remote learning plans in place to support families who do not physically send students back to school under this model.

If there's "moderate" spread, expect a hybrid model where daily in school student attendance would be reduced to 50 percent and kids would attend school on an alternating schedule with virtual learning taking place on the days they are not in school. This model will require additional health and safety protocols, special considerations for students with disabilities and English Language Learners to have access to in-person instruction.
Lastly, the third model is in the event of "high spread," where there's a widespread increase in the transmission levels of COVID-19. In this model schools will be closed and all learning will occur from home using the district’s virtual learning model.
