“I have the utmost respect for our veterans. We all enjoy blessed privileges every single day because of their commitment to our nation," Carfora said. "As for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, our fallen heroes, we can never repay them and their families. But their memory must live in our hearts and minds forever.”
The Memorial Day ceremonies and remembrances will feature a procession from the American Legion Post 89 on Thompson Avenue to the East Haven Town Green, which will step off at noon. All East Haven veterans and town officials are invited to participate, Carfora said.
