Ground Was Broken On Town Green Beautification Project

Officials gathered to kick off phase one of the project: a brick paver walkway, which is just one of the additions planned for the Green.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Ground was broken Wednesday on the Town Green for the 'Walk East Haven' beautification project.

Mayor Joseph A. Carfora, members of the Town Green Beautification Committee, town public works supervisor Charlie Coyle, East Haven police officials and community members gathered to kick off phase one of the project: a brick paver walkway, which is just one of the additions planned for the Green.

Residents are invited to purchase a paving brick engraved with a family name or in honor of a loved one that will be part of a Town Green pathway. Mayoral staffer Tina Hedley said that while folks have begun placing their orders for engraved bricks, the project will be ongoing and, given the walkway includes some 5,000 bricks, even ones that will be placed can be removed, engraved and put back in.
