100 candles for Hagaman Memorial Library! I am grateful to be on the Board of Trustees for a place that was so important in my childhood. At 9 years old, I moved across the street as one of the first families to live in public housing at Messina Drive. I volunteered at the library, learned to read maps & microfiche, did CT History Day reports on Old Stone Church, watched classic movies and did arts & crafts (friendship pins/ bracelets) with senior citizens. The librarians and staff have always been the heart of the organization, helping anyone in the public with needs from finding a job, children’s programming, completing tax forms, hosting art and music shows, Zoom presentation on historical events to geology and genealogy. This year, my family was able to listen to musical shows, pick up book bags for children, and use the online service named Hoopla to get audiobooks. Hagaman Memorial Library is a wonderful community hub in East Haven, and each of us can contribute in unique ways to make it last.

Any contribution will continue to help the good work:
