Izabella Segui Helps Vermont Academy Win Soccer Championship
East Haven's Segui, who is a junior at Vermont Academy, was invaluable as a midfielder in her team's win.

Saxtons River, VT -- The Vermont Academy girls soccer team (15-5-2) has won the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class D Championship tournament.
On Sunday, November 17, the Vermont Academy Wildcats defeated Trumbull’s Christian Heritage School 1-0 in the final. East Haven’s Izabella Segui, who is a junior at Vermont Academy, was invaluable as a midfielder. Saxtons River, VT junior Maggie Hodgson scored the goal and sophomore Elizabeth Pitts from Raymond, NH earned the assist.
This is the fifth straight year Vermont Academy has played for the NEPSAC Girls Soccer Championship and the third time in five years that they’ve won it. NEPSAC was founded in 1942 as an organization of athletic directors from preparatory schools in New England. It has 155 member schools. NEPSAC sanctions elite New England championship events in many sports and provides guidance in a variety of issues involving interscholastic athletics.
