More Landfill Hours So Residents Can Dump Storm Limbs, Brush
Free for East Haven residents with yard debris, the 250 Commerce St. landfill is open this week, Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 a.m.to 3 p.m.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The town has extended the operating days and times at the landfill so residents can get rid of tree limbs and other brush storm debris. Free for Est Haven residents only with debris from yards.
The 250 Commerce St. landfill will be open the entire week, Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Contractors are prohibited from disposing of storm brush and tree limbs, a statement from the town reads.

Also, over the next several days, the town's Department of Public Works will clear "left over limbs and brush from the edge of roadways." Though there's no schedule posted, workers in two teams will clean every street, the town says, between the north and south ends of town.

- You must be a resident of East Haven to use the landfill and all materials must come from an East Haven residence. Please provide proof of this in the form of a valid Connecticut driver’s license or a property tax bill at the time of pass purchase.
- The registration of the vehicle being used, must be of East Haven at time of pass purchase. Even for dealer plates and vehicle rentals. Paperwork with vehicles gross weight must be made available.
- Masks will be worn by employees when in contact with others.
- Masks must be worn by all residents disposing of material at the landfill and social distancing protocols must be followed.
- The transfer station attendant will control the total number of vehicles and residents within the property at any one time.
