EAST HAVEN, CT — Santa will have a police escort on Sunday Dec. 15. Yes, 10 days before Christmas but this is a special visit.

1. Wrap each gift of your choice (nothing fragile, valuable, or too big) in Christmas wrapping
paper and write the child’s name on the gift.
2. Wrap each gift again in plain brown paper or a brown paper bag.
3. Clearly print the child’s full name, the address of the delivery, and a phone number to reach
an adult at the house on the package.
4. Drop the package(s) off at: The East Haven Police Department, 471 North High Street. 5. With the package(s) a check must be included for the proper amount, made payable to “East
Haven Police Union.”

The charge for this service is as follows: $10 for the first gift, $5 for the second gift, and $2 for each additional gift.

"We encourage bringing the family or neighborhood friends together to one house to keep the cost down and help us reach as many residents as possible," police said adding that "Santa will only be able to make 35 stops, so sign up early before space is filled."

Police will be accepting gifts on a first come basis and must limit this service to residents of East Haven. Due to the number of stops and limited space we are unable to take special requests for delivery times or over-sized packages.

Gifts will be delivered between 12 noon and 8 p.m.
