Obituary: Thomas H. Gilbride, 35, of East Haven

His daughter was the center of his world, and reason to succeed; nothing made him happier than seeing his daughter smile and laugh.

Thomas H. Gilbride, age 35, of East Haven, CT passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 19, on his way home.

He was a graduate of East Haven High School in 2004, and worked as an insulator for the past 15 years. His hobbies were stone work, sports, family get togethers, and time spent with his daughter. He was a natural athlete and excelled at everything from basketball to corn hole. He was his family’s jokester, protector, and shoulder to lean on. His daughter was the center of his world, and reason to succeed; nothing made him happier than seeing his daughter smile and laugh. His vivacious personality, loyalty and sense of humor left him with many life long friendships.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francis and Mary Gilbride, and his maternal grandparents, Angelo and Laura DeMarco. He is survived by his parents, Harvey and Lisa Gilbride, his sister Amy Gilbride, his daughter, Gianna Gilbride, his paternal aunts and uncles, Jim and Lori Martin, Gaton and Gail Hardy and Kenneth Gilbride; and his maternal aunts and uncles, Michael and Kathy DeMarco, Lou and Leslie DeMarco, Dave and Roseann DeMarco, Joe and Angela Tramontano, and 13 cousins who grew up with and loved him as brother.

Family will receive mas wearing friends from 2 to 5 P.M. on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
