For Some, The Police Swearing-In Ceremony Comes A Year Later

Dozens of East Haven police officers took the oath.

EAST HAVEN, CT —The pandemic scuttled many events over the course of the past year-plus. Like then lieutenants Joseph Murgo and David Emermen, who were promoted to the rank of captain last summer; their ceremony had to wait.

The day finally came Thursday.

With family and friends, police colleagues and town officials gathered, 26 East Haven police officers took the oath.
