For Some, The Police Swearing-In Ceremony Comes A Year Later

EAST HAVEN, CT —The pandemic scuttled many events over the course of the past year-plus. Like then lieutenants Joseph Murgo and David Emermen, who were promoted to the rank of captain last summer; their ceremony had to wait.

The day finally came Thursday.

With family and friends, police colleagues and town officials gathered, 26 East Haven police officers took the oath.

They are:

Now Captains Joseph M. Murgo and David Emerman.

Now Lieutenants Kevin Klarman, Kershen Bissette, and Justin Brochu.

Sergeants Jeffrey Vailette, Ryan Gorman, Shirley Conyers and Gregory Borer

Detectives Molly Perry, Nicholas Adams, John Fraenza, Joseph Carangelo

Officers Dean Bibens, Tyler Pelham, Paul Scelza, Stephen Marsico, Paul Cavalier, Dwight Calderon, Francisco Ortiz, Micha Belcher, Rachel Wallinger, Christian Lupoli, Jayqwan Wilkins, Anthony Berretta and Michael Gallagher.
