Town In Talks With YMCA To Provide Child Care In East Haven
Mayor Joseph A. Carfora's administration said the town will provide the location, and the Y will provide child care services for families.

EAST HAVEN, CT - Mayor Jospeh A. Carfora and staff are in “high level in negotiations” to partner with the Soundview Family YMCA to provide before and after-care child care for East Haven families.
According to town officials, the goal is to be able to “offer superior programs for youth and families ...at a time when it is desperately needed.”
Town officials have “toured a few viable sights in East Haven with the YMCA team.”

The location for the child care services to be provided by the Y in partnership with the town is expected to be announced in the coming days.
“During these challenging times, and parents needing to return to work, this partnership will ensure a level of consistency and structure for both children and parents,” Carfora said.

Carfora said he believes a partnership with the Y to provide child care will “greatly benefit” the community: “The goal of this historic collaboration is to have an impact on our children for years to come."
