Winter Team State Championship History: East Haven High School
Yellowjacket teams have won eight state championships in winters past.
EAST HAVEN, CT — As practices for Connecticut high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of all eight winter team titles won by East Haven High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).
- boys basketball (6) - Class L: 1980; Class M: 1963, 1960, 1957, 1955, 1954
- girls basketball (1) - Class M: 2018
- boys ice hockey (1) - Div. II: 1998
