Deferred Property Taxes Due April 1 In Fairfield
Under Connecticut state law, the tax collector cannot waive interest.

You may pay your deferment eligible property taxes that became due on January 1, 2021 without interest or penalty through April 1, 2021. After April 1st, as mandated by CT General Statutes, interest will accrue at 1.5% per month retroactive to the original due date of January 1, 2021.

This means that on April 2nd all unpaid accounts will be subject to a 6% interest charge (1.5% for each of the months of January through April).
