GE Campus Set to Go on the Market: Report

A Fairfield-based company is ready to make an 'aggressive' push to purchase the 68-acre property.

Fairfield, CT — General Electric’s new headquarters is signed, sealed (but not yet delivered) to Boston, but what happens to the existing 68-acre campus in Fairfield remains to be determined.

The Fairfield Citizen reports that the property is expected to officially go on the market and Fairfield-based Kleban Properties is set to make an “aggressive” push to purchase it.

The two office buildings and the hotel on the property are assessed at about $59 million, according to the Citizen.

Kleban Properties, which recently passed GE as the town’s top taxpayer, wants to develop the property into a high-tech hub with a variety of educational components, including an executive education center.

Kleban Properties entered into an agreement with Fairfield University in March and would lease space to the university if it is successful in purchasing the property.
