$2.2M Lottery Winner Sold In Hamden

The jackpot-winning ticket was sold last week, according to Connecticut Lottery officials.

HAMDEN, CT — A winning $2.2 million Lotto jackpot ticket was sold at a gas station in Hamden last week, according to Lottery officials. There were 6,511 winning tickets sold for the Friday, April 24, Lotto jackpot drawing and one contained a six-number match worth $2.2 million, with a lump-sum value of $2.04 million, officials said.

The numbers drawn that night were 2 – 7 – 8 – 12 – 17 – 24. The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Shell Hamden, located at 1994 Whitney Ave, in Hamden. For its part in selling the winning ticket, that Shell location will receive a $10,000 retailer commission, Lottery officials said.

“The Lotto jackpot is won by matching all six winning numbers drawn,” officials wrote in a news release. “A Lotto ticket costs $1 and players select six numbers between 1 and 44, or they can ask for a Lotto ‘Quick Pick’ to let the computer randomly pick their numbers. The overall odds of winning a Lotto prize are 1 in 39.3. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 7.1 million.”
