Man Charged In Shooting In Hamden: Police

The victim was hospitalized after being shot in the hand and leg, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Hamden last year, according to police.

The shooting happened in the area of Arch Street and Bowen Street on Sept. 9, 2020, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said a 46-year-old man was shot in the hand and leg and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.

Detective Andrew Lipford conducted an investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Thomas Carr.

Carr, 33, was arrested July 7 at Meriden Superior Court. He was charged with first-degree assault/discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
