3 Shot At In Broad Daylight In Hamden: Police

Police said several gunmen got out of a car and fired shots at three young men who were walking in Hamden on Friday afternoon.

HAMDEN, CT — Three people were shot at by several gunmen in broad daylight Friday in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded to the area of Morse Street and Shelton Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on the report of shots fired, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said residents reported that three young men were walking on Morse Street near Shelton Avenue when three men got out of a dark-colored sedan and fired multiple gunshots at them.

“They subsequently ran eastbound on Morse Street, in an attempt to avoid harm,” Smith wrote in a news release. “It is unknown if any of the young males were struck by gunfire.”

Smith said a house and a vehicle were damaged by bullets. The suspect vehicle was last seen heading north on Newhall Street.

Police found numerous shell casings at the scene, according to Smith.
