Abused Dog Finds New Home: Hamden Police
A Happy Tail: An abused dog who was found abandoned in Hamden over the summer has made a full recovery and has been adopted.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police shared a happy update regarding the abused dog who was found tied to an apartment building and was suffering from severe medical issues in August. The dog, a Yorkshire Terrier Mix, has made a full recovery and has been “adopted and welcomed into a new home,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
When the dog was found in the 600 block of Mix Avenue on Aug. 13, both of its ears were infected and needed to be partially amputated. The dog was also underweight and dehydrated and had been suffering from the condition for at least two weeks, a veterinarian at the North Haven Animal Hospital told police. The dog is about 3 years old.
Smith said police are still seeking information regarding the identity of the previous owner. Anyone with information is urged to contact Animal Control Officer Christopher Smith at (203) 230-4080.
