Annual Fall Leaf and Brush Collection Starts Nov. 12

If you're disabled and unable to bag leaves, call the Town Attorney's office to become eligible for curbside pickup.

The town's annual fall leaf and brush collection will begin Tuesday, Nov. 12.

All bagged leaves and bundled brush must be out by Nov. 12 to guarantee pick-up. Leaves must be placed in paper bags (not plastic) and brush must be bundled and tied with string or twine. Bundles should weigh no more than 50 lbs, exceed no more than four feet in length and contain no pieces in excess of four inches diameter.

Bundled brush and bagged leaves should be placed curbside separate of each other and away from October bulk pickup items. No items should be placed in the street or in any way block a sidewalk. Disposal of root systems, grass clippings and soil are prohibited.

Leaves and yard waste must be bagged and only those residences where all occupants are disabled or physically unable to bag their leaves and have been approved for curbside pick-up through the Town Attorney's Office may rake their leaves to the curb.

Households in which all residents are disabled or unable to bag loose leaves in order to be eligible for curbside leaf pickup must be qualified prior to Nov. 8, 2013 in order to receive the service for Fall 2013. Anyone qualifying beyond that date will be included in the Spring 2014 cleanup list.

For questions regarding curbside leaf pick-up eligibility documentation, contact the Town Attorney's Office at 203-287-7050.
