Clerk Punched 15 Times In Head During Assault: Hamden Police

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man they said punched a clerk more than 15 times in the head at a gas station in Hamden.

Police responded to U.S. 1 Petrol at 1290 Dixwell Ave. around 11:30 p.m. on March 28 on the report of an unwanted person, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the person, described as a man wearing black clothing, entered the store and punched the 63-year-old clerk more than 15 times in the head.

The man was last seen walking northbound on Dixwell Avenue, according to Smith.

The victim refused medical attention.
