Come out and donate a bag of non-perishable items or a new, unwrapped toy between 11am-1pm tomorrow, Saturday, December 12th at the Hamden Middle School and receive a free Hamden Heart Bumper Sticker courtesy of Hamden Arts and Culture (while supplies last - one bumper sticker per car). All food and toys donated by hamden residents goes right back into the Hamden community through the Keefe Community Center. The most needed items are toys boys / girls ages 9-12 but anything is appreciated. (The drive starts at 10am and ends at 2pm but stickers will only be available between 11am-1pm).
The Hamden Kids Holiday Toy Drive is a volunteer-led initiative that has been organized for the last 20 years by extremely generous Hamden residents, Chris and Don Buechele - in collaboration with the staff at the Keefe Center, the Hamden Police Department and the Hamden Volunteer Fire Department. This year, the volunteer Firefighters have combined their food collection efforts with the toy drive, with the help of the Hamden CERT team, at the middle school to create one big, combined opportunity for all of us to donate in one place and ensure all of our community members have food on thier tables and gifts for their families.
Come out for one last, big effort to keep our friends and families uplifted tomorrow and show your Hamden spirit with the Hamden Heart - a symbol of unity, care, and the collective strength we exhibit when we work together and, take care of each other, as a community.
