Frontier Communications Honors 12 'Tell Your Girl Scout Story' Semifinalists

Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR) is pleased to announce twelve Connecticut girls have been chosen as semi-finalists for the “Tell Your Girl Scout Story” video challenge. Frontier and the Girl Scouts of Connecticut partnered for the challenge earlier this year, encouraging girls to upload short videos to Frontier’s Facebook page that described how Girl Scouts has supported them in the areas of leadership, technology or community. The semi-finalists received the most public votes on Facebook and were honored last week during an awards ceremony at Frontier’s East Region Headquarters in New Haven.

Each of the 12 semi-finalists will receive one year of free Frontier services and a $100 Visa gift card. The videos will now move on to the next phase of competition; they will be on display at the upcoming Girl Scouts of Connecticut Fun Fest, where attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. The Grand Prize Winner, who will be announced at Fun Fest, will receive a $500 Visa gift card, 20 complimentary tickets to the Frontier suite at the Webster Bank Arena for the event of their choice, and dinner for their entire Girl Scout troop, sponsored by the Frontier Area General Manager for their area, at the hometown restaurant of their choice.

Frontier is serving as the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Fun Fest, which will be held on Saturday, May 16 at the Durham Fairgrounds.

The semi-finalists are (in alphabetical order): Claudia Andrews, Monroe; Bella Bellamo, Enfield; Llyce Cronk, Beacon Falls; Caitlyn Desmond, Cheshire; Valerie Guerin, Southbury; Grace Kirby, North Haven; Corina Massey, West Haven; Saraia LaTorraca, Hamden; Amber Tomasino, Granby; Chelsea Wade, Ivoryton; and Olivia and Grace Wong, Shelton.

“It’s our belief at Girl Scouts of Connecticut that every girl has a chance to do something amazing, and these talented young women have done just that,” said Mary Barneby, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut. “Our partnership with Frontier on this contest gave our Girl Scouts an opportunity to use technology to tell their personal stories in a new and exciting way.”
