Hamden 'Chamber Kitty' Needs a Home

There's a new resident at the Hamden Chamber of Commerce, but he's looking for a permanent place to call home

Clyde had been living in the parking lot at Side Street Grille in Hamden for over three years, according to chamber president Nancy Dudchik.

"He's not feral, he enjoys human touch and is a very sweet boy," she said. "We assume he was either abandoned or lost his way home a long time ago."

Dudchik had been feeding Clyde and another feral cat "Bonnie" for about eight months every morning, and staff at Side Street Grille has been taken care of them for years, she said.

"Last week Clyde fell ill and with the amazing support and help from Hamden Happy Tails Foundation and Animal Medical Care in Cheshire, he's back in good health," she said. "We all didn't have the heart to put him back in the parking lot to sleep under cars....he doesn't deserve that....so right now he is a Chamber-Kitty looking for a permanent home.

"It's incredible to see that a cat who has only known how to survive outside is extremely comfortable and happy inside," she said.
