Hamden Councilor Lambasted Over Comments To Colleague: Report

Councilwoman Valerie Horsley interrupted her colleague in a meeting to tell him to address her as "doctor," the New Haven Register reports.

HAMDEN, CT — Activists gathered Monday at Memorial Town Hall to call for the resignation of Valerie Horsley, a Hamden councilwoman who interrupted her colleague, councilman Justin Farmer, in an April 5 council meeting to insist that he addresses her as “doctor.”

According to the report, the interaction happened in a Legislative Council Finance Committee meeting and led to deliberations being paused until a professional training seminar could be scheduled.

Horsely told the publication she does not intend to resign.
