Hamden Doctor Fined, Placed On Probation By State: Report

The state Medical Examining Board recently fined and disciplined two doctors for various violations.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden doctor has been placed on probation and fined $10,000 by the state Medical Examining Board for failing to inform a patient about side effects from the medication he prescribed, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.

Lisa Backus of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports Dr. Richard Kravitz, who works at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven and a private office in Hamden, was found to have failed to order laboratory testing for the woman and failed to document her treatments for three years.

In addition to the fine, Kravitz was ordered to follow the stipulations of an 18-month probation period including attending classes in proper documentation and laboratory monitoring of prescriptions, according to Backus.
