The Hamden Lodge #2224 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks held its 2013 Youth Soccer Shoot on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Hamden Middle School Field.
Open to Hamden and North Haven youth, participants competed in four age brackets: 7 and under, 8 to 9, 10 to 11 and 12 to 13. The boy and girl winners in each bracket will advance to district and state events sponsored by the CT Elks Association and regional meets sponsored by Grand Lodge. The winners will be honored at the Hamden Lodge Youth Awards Banquet to be held during National Youth Week.
The Elks Soccer and Hoop Shoots are part of the National Elks’ program of scholarships, drug awareness, scouting and sports for the youth of America.
