Hamden Native Wins Oscar With Lady Gaga At Academy Awards
A Hamden native was a big winner at Sunday night's 91st Academy Awards, along with a Quinnipiac graduate who also took home an Oscar.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden native Anthony Rossomando capped off an amazing awards season by taking home an Oscar at Sunday night’s 91st Academy Awards. Rossomando won for Best Original Song for “Shallow,” which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. It was the third award the foursome has won within the past two months for the signature song from “A Star is Born” with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. They won a Golden Globe award in January for best original song and took home a Grammy Award earlier this month.
Anthony Rossomando was raised in Hamden and is the son of longtime Wallingford music teacher Fred Rossomando, according to the Meriden Record-Journal. Fred Rossomando, who was a longtime music teacher at Moran Middle School, retired from teaching in 2003 and lives in Hamden with his wife Josephine, according to the Record-Journal.
