Hamden Obituaries: Gladys Brunson, 83

Gladys loved to listen to gospel music and had a passion for cooking and gardening.

Gladys Brunson, 83, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on Oct. 23, 2013 with family at her side.

She was born May 9, 1930 to the late Bessie Bell and John Davis-Faircloth in Garland, NC.

Gladys loved to listen to gospel music and had a passion for cooking and gardening.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Gwendolyn Brunson of New London, CT,  grandson Jeffrey Chad Brunson of New Haven, great granddaughter Valdenia Brunson of Beaufort, SC, niece Lil Whitted of Poughkeepsie, NY (Pastor Curtis), and Godson Derek Gayle; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by husband Roland Brunson and daughter Valdenia Brunson.

Her wake will be on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Matthews Unison Free Will Baptist Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, with calling hours from 10:00-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Avenue, New Haven.
