Hamden Obituaries: Joseph M. Civitelli, 24

He was an amazing and loving father whose family meant everything to him.

Joseph M. Civitelli, 24, of Hamden passed away suddenly in a car accident on Oct. 31, 2013.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Maureen O'Connell Civitelli and Mark Edwards of Cheshire, his father Christopher Civitelli of Florida, his longtime girlfriend Kelsey Komoroski and their son Mason Anthony Civitelli, a brother Christopher Civitelli of Hamden, sisters Christina Hedglin of East Haven, Tara Civitelli of Kent, Lauren Civitelli of Hamden and Alyssa Civitelli of Cheshire, a stepsister Marissa Edwards of Cheshire, an uncle John J. O'Connell III (Marilou) of Hamden, an aunt Elizabeth (John) Uscilla of Bethany and a special friend Auntie Lana of Darien.

Born Sept.20,1989 in New Haven, he attended Hamden High School and East Haven High School and had been employed as a construction worker for several area companies.

Joseph was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and a very talented landscape artist. He was an amazing and loving father whose family meant everything to him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday at St. John the Baptist Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call SUNDAY (TODAY) from 3 - 7 p.m. at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

Memorial contributions are requested to be made to a special fund to be set up for Joseph's son, Mason in care of Maureen Civitelli.
