Hamden Obituaries: Leonard Pearl, 86

He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II and in the Army during the Korean War.



Leonard Pearl, 86, of Hamden, devoted husband of 58 years to Joan (Broder) Pearl, died at Ct. Hospice on Nov. 23, 2013.

Born in Springfield, Ma., Sept. 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Max & Ethel (Savin) Pearl and the beloved Father of Gary (Deneen) Pearl, Stuart (Tami) Pearl, & Robin (Hillard) Einbinder. He was the dear Brother of Pauline Rosenberg and the cherished grandfather of Sareen (Andrew )Hagedorn, Scott Pearl, Emily Pearl, Ryan Pearl, Max Einbinder, Rachel Einbinder, Ira Einbinder, and Hayden Einbinder.

Len was a Hillhouse High School graduate and received a BS in Insurance from the University of Connecticut School of Business. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II and in the Army during the Korean War.

An avid reader and a long-time member of Temple Beth Shalom and later Congregation Or Shalom, Len was a District Manager for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 34 years until his retirement. You will be missed Len.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the Beth El Cemetery, Waterbury, for immediate family members only.

A Period of Mourning will be observed on Monday at 418 Northwood Drive, Orange, from 2 - 4p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
