Mary Casotti of Hamden died peacefully November 24, 2013 at Whitney Manor. She was the wife of the late Joseph Casotti.
She was the mother of Daniel Casotti and the sister of the late Viola SantaBarbara, Vera Grandini, Alice Vincenti, Rosie Banchieri and Theresa DeCarlo. She also was the grandmother of Joseph and Daniel Casotti and is survived by four great grandchildren.
Mary was born in New Haven on Aug. 10, 1918, to the late Ubaldo and Antoinette Banchieri. She worked as a teacher in Italy for several years prior to returning home, where she taught at Montessori School for 25 years.
Her funeral will leave the Iovanne Funeral Home, 11 Wooster Place, on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 8-9:30 a.m.
