Hamden Obituaries: Randall S. Robinson Sr., 88

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga during World War II. His greatest joys in life were his family and UCONN basketball.



Randall S. Robinson Sr., 88, the beloved husband of the late Beverly H. Robinson, passed away on Dec. 21, 2013.

He was born in New Haven on Sept. 3, 1925, a son of the late Calvin and Emily Brunt Robinson, and had resided in Wallingford since 1998, previously living in Hamden.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga during World War II. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Newton New Haven Die-casting for many years prior to his retirement.

His greatest joys in life were his family and UCONN basketball.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his children and their spouses: Randall S. (Sharon) Robinson, Jr. of Wallingford, Cheryl (Randall) Peck of Diboll, TX, Donna (Gregg) Currier of Norfolk, CT, and Karen (Roy) Belenardo of Branford, as well as his loving grandchildren Robin (Scott) LaBianco, Gregg M. Currier, Ellen Currier, Marshall Peck, Sam Peck, Rachel Peck, Jill Peck, Carol Peck, Stephen Robinson, Roy Belenardo Jr., Lori Haller, and great-grandchildren Cassie Kennedy and James LaBianco. He is predeceased by two brothers, Calvin and Stephen Robinson.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Friends and relatives may visit with his family Thursday morning from 9-11 a.m. Interment to be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
