
Sylvia V. Vernon, 86, of Hamden, entered eternal rest Dec. 30, 2013 at Ct Hospice.
She was born to the late Norman Vernon and Ida Noel on July 16, 1927 in Forest Reserve Fyzabad, Trinidad.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons Robert Baldwin (Hyacinth), William Baldwin, Nigel Baldwin (Nicole), Damon Baldwin, Colley Baldwin (Carol); daughters, Gloria Arnold, Angela Baldwin (Daniel), Myrtle Vernon, Marva Vernon, Marilou Gopaul (Ramcharan),Cheryl - Ann Alexander (Cuthbert); a brother, Hollister Vernon; a sister, Cynthia Vernon; 25 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Herman, Roland, Clyde, Hamilton Vernon and a sister, Grace Vernon.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Seventh Day Adventist, 64 Marlboro St., Hamden. Calling hour will be Thursday at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
