Hamden Remembers Sandy Hook

A candlelight vigil will be held Dec. 12 at Memorial Town Hall to mark the first anniversary of the Newtown shootings.

As the first anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shootings approaches, the Hamden Human Rights and Relations Commission is planning an event to remember the victims of that tragedy.

The commission will host a candlelight vigil,  “Light the Night,” on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at Memorial Town Hall. Luminaries will be provided.

The purpose of the vigil is "to support and remember Newtown and the 26 angels of Sandy Hook Elementary," according to HRRC chairman Christopher Vega.
