HAMDEN, CT — Eli's on Whitney will close for five days after a worker tested positive for the coronavirus. The test result was announced Friday.

The restaurant's brick oven pizza location across the street and other Eli's locations will remain open.

"Due to a positive COVID test from an employee, we will be temporarily closing this location for the next 5 days out of an abundance of caution for our team as well as of course you, our guests," management for the restaurant wrote on Facebook. "During this time we will be sanitizing contact surfaces as well as working with our team on contact tracing, testing and isolation protocols..."
