Hamden Teens Charged with Burglarizing Noble Street Home

Two Hamden teenagers are facing burglary charges after they allegedly broke into a Noble Street home and stole several items Monday afternoon.

Police got the call at about 1 p.m. reporting two teens trying to open a car door in the area of Noble and Rose streets, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

When officer arrived, they found an air conditioner on the ground under the window of a Noble Street home, Smith said. The homeowner told police they saw the teens in the yard shortly before that, he said.

"Moments later, Officers Craig Appleby and Derick Manning detained the juveniles on Circular Avenue," Smith said. "They were in the possession of electronic equipment, money, a musical instrument and a bb gun. An investigation is continuing with regards to these stolen items."

The teens, one 16 and the other 15, were charged with criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal trespass. 

They are scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Oct. 2.
