Hamden Transfer Station Saturday Hours Begin April 24

The town's food compost collection also begins April 24 at the Hamden Transfer Station.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Town Hall): Hamden Public Works Director Craig Cesare is reminding residents that Public Works is offering special Saturday hours at the Transfer Station on the following dates: April 24, May 1, and May 8.

Public Works is able to offer this service at no additional cost, as it will be captured in the already contractual Leaf Overtime expense, according to officials. The Transfer Station is typically open Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m., and will operate during these hours on the aforementioned Saturdays.

Additionally, food compost collection also begins on April 24 — bring organic food waste to the station to be composted.
