Here's How Much More Snow We'll Receive Tonight: CT Weather

The snow has led to several accidents across the state Saturday night. Here's a live look at the most recent accidents.

CONNECTICUT — Another burst of snow is expected this evening which will bring additional snow accumulation to the state. Some areas have already picked up a couple of inches of snow as of 6 p.m. Saturday.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the entire state through midnight. For the immediate coast, an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected. In inland sections of southern Connecticut an additional 2 to 4 inches is expected tonight, and in Hartford, Tolland, Windham, and Litchfield counties three to six inches of snow accumulation is forecast here.

It appears that as of 8:15 p.m. that the snow has only a few more hours left as the National Weather Service video shows the precipitation winding down to our west.

Here are the latest traffic advisories as of 8:15 p.m.:

BRIDGEPORT - Motor Vehicle Accident (1 Vehicle) on I-95 Northbound between Exits 27A and 28. The left lane is closed. Reported Saturday, January 18 at 7:26 pm.

NEW HAVEN - Motor Vehicle Accident (1 Vehicle) on I-95 Northbound between Exits 48 and 50. The right lane is closed. Reported Saturday, January 18 at 7:55 pm.

MONTVILLE - Route 163 is closed in both directions at Crandall Hill Road because of a Motor Vehicle Accident (1 Vehicle). Due to this road closure, motorist are advised to seek an alternate route.Reported Saturday, January 18 at 6:36 pm.


What's Next?

Once the snow ends around midnight, it will be sunny and warmer on Sunday with temps in the low 40s but it will be windy.

It will only be 30 degrees on Martin Luther King Jr. Day but it will be sunny. Tuesday will be even colder with temps only in the upper 20s and temps only around 30 degrees on Wednesday.

It starts to moderate slowly on Thursday with temps into the upper 30s and we finally exceed 40 degrees again on Friday.

There are no snow or rain chances in the forecast next week, at least for now.
