Hour-By-Hour Snow Forecast For Tonight, Wednesday AM: CT Weather

Here is an updated timeline of when the snow will begin and end in Connecticut and how much snow is expected to accumulate.

CONNECTICUT — The entire state is under a Winter Weather Advisory as accumulating snow is forecast for the Wednesday morning commute. Again, this won't be a major snow event, but the timing may cause problems for motorists and could even lead to some school delays and or cancelations.

For Southern Connecticut, the Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. until 11 a.m. Total snow accumulations around one to two inches. Locally higher amounts possible.

For Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, the weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches. In Litchfield County, the weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.

The National Weather Service says, "Snow will impact the morning commute and may become steady before tapering off by early Wednesday afternoon. Skies then become partly to mostly cloudy by sunset only allowing temperatures to slightly rise into the middle 30s."

Fairfield County coast:

10 a.m.: 62 percent chance of precipitation; 32 degrees

Fairfield County inland:

1 a.m.: 86 percent chance of precipitation; 34 degrees

7 a.m.: 80 percent chance of precipitation; 30 degrees

10 a.m.: 56 percent chance of precipitation; 31 degrees

1 p.m.: 27 percent chance of precipitation; 34 degrees

The weather service says snow is expected after midnight and should conclude by 11 a.m. A total of 2.2 inches of snow is forecast for the area.


New Haven County coast:

1 a.m.: 84 percent chance of precipitation; 36 degrees

4 a.m.: 87 percent chance of precipitation; 34 degrees

7 a.m.: 84 percent chance of precipitation; 32 degrees

10 a.m.: 64 percent chance of precipitation; 32 degrees

New Haven County inland:
