LA Fitness To Close In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — The LA Fitness location in Hamden will close next month, officials recently announced.

Officials said they made the “difficult decision” to close the location at 48 Skiff St. in Hamden and cited an expiring lease, according to a message sent to members. The last day of operation will be Sunday, June 13.

“The decision to close a club is never an easy one,” the message reads. “These types of tough choices are a critical part of making sure we keep our business on a solid footing, both today and in the future.”

Membership access has been expanded for Hamden LA Fitness members, giving them use of all the company’s clubs in Connecticut. The message specifically mentioned the LA Fitness at 1201 Boston Post Rd. in Milford.

“Like the Hamden facility, this club offers basketball, a lap pool, indoor cycling, a sauna and much more,” the message reads. “Our closest club offering racquetball is our Stratford club.”
