The staff chose to flout their dress code and pass along the fines they accrued in doing so to the Friends of the Library. With additional contributions from patrons, over $50 was collected for the Friends' coffers.
The Friends of the Hamden Library sponsor library programs, including children's Summer Reading, fund the purchase museum passes and other special collection library collections as well as equipment and furnishings for all three buildings.
