“Leaving a firearm(s) inside of your unattended vehicle is a major cause of concern,” Smith wrote in a news release. “This presents a safety issue to the police and the community. Stolen guns are frequently used in criminal activity. Please safely store your firearm in a locked steel gun cabinet, strong box or safe, and always utilize a trigger lock.
