Man Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges: Hamden Police

Police seized nine marijuana plants, body armor and two large capacity magazines from a home in Hamden, according to officials.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was arrested on gun and drug charges after police said he was in the possession of large capacity magazines and several marijuana plants.

Police responded to a home in the 2000 block of State Street on March 25 on the request of the New Haven Police Department, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said New Haven police, who were investigating another matter, found gun-related items and marijuana inside the home.

Hamden police seized nine marijuana plants, body armor and two large capacity magazines. Each magazine is capable of storing 30 rounds of ammunition, according to Smith.

Detective Donald Remillard submitted an arrest warrant application for Branden Wright to Meriden Superior Court, which was approved.

Wright, 28, was arrested May 13 at Meriden Superior Court. He was charged with two counts of illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of body armor, cultivation of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He was detained on a court-ordered $50,000 bond.
