Man Burglarized Home While Residents Were Sleeping: Hamden Police
The man is accused of breaking into a home while the residents, including a 7-month-old baby, were sleeping, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man has been arrested in connection with a home burglary last summer, according to police.
Police responded to the 800 block of Whitney Avenue during the early morning hours of Aug. 5, 2020 on the report of a burglary, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said police found that Therman Blount broke into the home while the residents, including a 7-month-old baby, were sleeping.

The residents were alerted of the intruder by their dog and Blount left the area on his bicycle, heading south on Whitney Avenue, according to Smith.
Detective Joseph Liguori conducted an investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Blount.

Blount, 53, of Twinbrook Road, was arrested May 27 at Meriden Superior Court and charged with second-degree burglary. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Blount was also arrested in January in a separate burglary case. He is accused of posing as a state worker and breaking into the home after the owner went to work. He was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny in that case. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges with the next court date set for July 1, according to judicial records.
