HAMDEN, CT — A Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will take place at the Hamden Veterans Memorial Monument on May 31, Mayor Curt Balzano Leng and Hamden Veterans Commission Chairman Abner Oakes announced.
“Although there will be no Memorial Day Parade this year in Hamden due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Veterans Commission is inviting residents to this special ceremony,” officials wrote in a news release. “Social distancing and event capacity protocols will be in place and attendees are required to wear face-masks and coverings and maintain respective distances of 6 feet between other persons.
“The ceremony will feature remarks from the Veterans Commission, Mayor Leng, and other guests, and will begin at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Monument, located at 2623 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT 06518.
