Obituary: Rita R. Johnson, 85, of Hamden
Rita, a loving wife, sister and friend, worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT for many years.
HAMDEN, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Rita R. Johnson, 85, of Hamden, passed away peacefully at her home on June 11, 2021 with her family by her side.
Wife of the late Myron “Mike” Johnson, Rita resided in Hamden for most of her life.
She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Riordan and sisters Patricia Riordan and Mary Cummings.
Rita was born in New Haven, June 20, 1935, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary O’Connor Riordan.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT.
The family would like to thank Virginia, Rita’s caregiver, for her dedication and the compassionate care that she provided for Rita.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave., Hamden, CT.
Friends are asked to go directly to church. Calling hours are Friday 5 - 7 p.m. at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
