Obituary: Sheila Lyons Donahue, 83, of Hamden
Sheila worked 50 years for SNET, retiring as a network engineering manager. She was also a longtime member of the Owenego Club in Branford.
HAMDEN, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Sheila Lyons Donahue, 83, of Hamden passed away peacefully on July 2,2021 at the CT Hospice, Branford with her loving family at her side.
She is survived by nieces Karen Rhone and husband William of North Haven, Susan Gardiner of Hamden, nephew David Lyons and wife Tara of Hamden, great nieces and nephews Brian, William, Meghan, Shannon, David and Emma, sister in law Ann Lyons of Hamden, many loving cousins and a great group of friends.
She was predeceased by a brother Francis D. Lyons Jr and a sister Jeanne Gardiner.
Sheila was born April 15,1938 in New Haven a daughter of the late Francis D. Lyons Sr. and Esther Canavan Lyons , was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School class of 1956 and was employed for 50 years by SNET retiring as a network engineering manager.
She was a longtime member of the Owenego Club in Branford.
Sheila loved traveling and visited many places but her favorites were The Cape and Margarita Island in Venezuela. She was her nephews and nieces biggest fan in whatever sport they would play and never missed any of their games.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00 in Devine Mercy Parish St. Rita Church, Hamden.
Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning from 9:00-10:30.
