Officer Involved In Fatal Shooting Rejected By Hamden Commission
The officer involved in the fatal shooting of a teenager in Bridgeport had applied for a position with the Hamden Police Department.
HAMDEN, CT — A Bridgeport police officer who fatally shot a teenager three years ago has been rejected by the Hamden Police Commission for a job with the town’s department, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports James Boulay, who was cleared of wrongdoing in the 2017 shooting death of 15-year-old Jayson Negron, applied to be an officer with Hamden and had been interviewed and was rejected by the commission in its May 26 meeting.
Protesters gathered outside Hamden Police Headquarters on Wednesday when word spread that Boulay applied for a job in Hamden, according to the Register. Boulay has been sued by Negron’s family in connection with his death.
