Parking Ban, Trash Delay Announced In Hamden

With snow in the forecast, officials announce a parking ban that will be in effect in Hamden along with a delay in trash collection.

HAMDEN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect in Hamden, beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, until further notice, Mayor Curt B. Leng and Public Works Director Craig Cesare announced.

The parking ban prohibits anyone to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any odd numbered portion of a town street or highway.

The ban further prohibits anyone to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 71.07 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle.
