Parking Bans Announced For Construction Project In Hamden
Officials say milling and paving work will begin on several streets in Hamden next week.
HAMDEN, CT — Officials have announced several parking bans that will be in effect next week for a construction project in Hamden. Southern Connecticut Gas is continuing its gas main replacement program on select roadways in Hamden.
On Wednesday, May 20, milling and paving work will begin, and the following streets will have no parking on the street until work is completed:
- Bedford Avenue
- Thornton Street from Wakefield to Whitney Avenue
- Churchill Road
- Norris Street
- Davis Street from Ridge Road to Quaker
- Fernwood Road from Ridge Road to Hepburn
- Foote Street from Hartford Turnpike to Ridge
- Grafton Road from Franklin to Quaker
- Hepburn Road
- Hubbard Road from Ridge Road to Westcott
- Quaker Road
- Rodgers Road
“Southern Connecticut Gas has already replaced the existing gas mains and services, and installed a new gas main and services to the existing residents and businesses,” officials wrote in a news release. “The contractor will comply with all town specifications for restoration, and the town will be monitoring construction.

“The paving crews will be working in front of properties throughout the project. There are planned to have police officers during the work day. Access will be maintained for residents, school buses, and emergency services.”
